Our May customer of the month writes to us from Walsall about his brand new Edwardian conservatory. Mr Woolley wanted to replace his much-loved wooden conservatory at the back of his property with a modern and long-lasting upgrade.

His existing conservatory had been around for years and was in desperate need of an update. Mr Woolley approached ConservatoryLand with the vision of a replacement conservatory to bring a new lease of life to his semi-detached home.

With years of experience and an abundance of successful conservatory builds under our belts, we know a thing or two about crafting spaces that are custom-built and made to last.

Mr Woolley was concerned the build would be problematic due to an existing gas flue at the back of his home. But our expert team was determined they could work around the challenge.

Our knowledge gave Mr Woolley confidence ConservatoryLand was the perfect partner to help design his bespoke conservatory. And our friendly team was on hand to guide Mr Woolley along the way. They shared insightful ideas and provided helpful information on time frames and installation costs.

Following discussions around the options available — such as gable front and lean-to conservatories — Mr Woolley selected an Edwardian style conservatory featuring a dwarf brick wall. Using his preferences and specific requirements, our designers created a mockup of Mr Woolley’s conservatory.

Building Mr Woolley’s Edwardian Conservatory

The first step in Mr Woolley’s conservatory project was dismantling the existing one, and he was prepared to take up the challenge himself! He set about taking his old conservatory apart and was soon ready to erect the upgrade.

dismantle conservatory process

As Mr Woolley was replacing his old conservatory, he could still benefit from the existing base. With the old conservatory dismantled, it was time to build the walls. Mr Woolley had opted for a dwarf brick wall in rustic red charcoal with light grey mortar — a beautiful contrast that complemented his property’s pale render.

Mr Woolley chose white PVCu for the window frames, consistent with the window frames in his home. Here at ConservatoryLand, we manufacture our frames from high-quality fully-sculptured PVCu profiles. These are designed for quick self-assembly and built to last a lifetime.

Mr Woolley preferred double doors at the front of his conservatory, so that the structure appeared open and airy. The double doors nicely maximise the natural light entering the space, and Mr Woolley will be free to open the doors out into his garden, increasing that sense of airiness. Once the walls were erected, the conservatory was taking shape, and it was time to build the roof.

Mr Woolley chose Polycarbonate for the roof, a popular and affordable option. Thanks to its pitched roof, his replacement conservatory becomes a spacious and light-filled room. He was delighted knowing the space would benefit from plenty of sunshine. Finally, Mr Woolley was over the moon to complete his conservatory with a few finishing touches, such as stylish gold handles.

Client Testimonial

Rating our service as “excellent”, Mr Woolley was delighted with his ConservatoryLand experience.

“We are over the moon with our new conservatory, and we were so glad that your team was there for us when we needed them, as we had a few bumps along the way we live in an old property and things were not plain sailing. But it looks great and everyone loves it, just as do we. Not bad for a 78-year-old.

And just like Mr Woolley, who was thrilled with ConservatoryLand’s service and expertise, we have many more happy customers  — explore our customer case studies.
